Having been here in El Salvador for a year on Feb 3rd I've been able to stir up enough work to keep me quite busy.
My life consists of teaching some very eager hotel and restaurant employees english on Mondays and Wednesdays at both 8am and 2pm for THREE HOURS... but its fun thanks to my amazing students.
Then until the 29th, I'll be translating for a woman's artisan co-operative the rest of the days. My host mom is the president of the co-op and I couldn't say no, even if it kills me.
I'm translating for a very interesting Dutchman who is here for 2 weeks teaching the woman different ways to make paper. We will be using different leaves, flowers, old jeans and t-shirts, coffee grinds and more. I'm super exciting and thankful to the many other Peace Corps volunteers who are helping me out with the translating.
So that's the skinny.
I have not taken pictures of my classes or artisan women yet....but I will soon. Te lo prometo.
my host sister and her daughter please note the super sweet new years hat. |
